October 3, 2025: Seeds of Impact: The CCEDIR Annual Community + Academic Partner Gathering
CCEDIR's annual gathering is a celebration of the work accomplished together and a glimpse of future possibilities. This special event brings together students, faculty, staff, and community members to honor our shared achievements, foster meaningful connections, and plant seeds for the year to come. After the main event, there was also an optional, interest-based networking session.

April 6, 2026: Engaging with Intention: Foundations for Community-Engaged Scholarship
This in-person interactive workshop series was designed for Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington faculty to strengthen community-engaged scholarship through equitable and community-centered collaboration. Participants explored strategies for building partnerships grounded in trust, communication, mutual respect, and recognition of the expertise community partners bring to research and practice. Whether new to community-engaged work or looking to deepen existing partnerships, faculty gained tools and perspectives to support more meaningful and effective collaboration.

As part of National Public Health Week, CCEDIR hosted a pop-up table at the Indiana Memorial Union, featuring the Veggie Meter and fun, interactive nutrition resources.
April 8, 2026: From Indiana to Kenya: Community-Approaches to Women and Girls' Health
A community-informed, dialogue driven webinar featuring voices from IU Health's Family Vitality Initiative and E3 Kenya. This community-informed, dialogue-driven webinar highlighted practical strategies rooted in context - not just theory. Discussions explored how social, cultural, and environmental conditions shape the health of women and young girls.
April 9, 2026: Second Annual Health and Faith Summit: Creating Caring Communities
Hosted by IU Health with support from CCEDIR, this summit brought together faith-based organizations to share credible health information and identify actionable steps to support well-being in their communities. The focus is on strengthening faith-rooted responses to local health needs through connection, learning, and action.
April 15, 2026: Special Presentation: Margaret Handley
This was a special session highlighting how community-engaged research and implementation science can be integrated to strengthen public health practice and advance health equity. Dr. Margaret Handley from the University of California, San Francisco shared insights from her work, highlighting strategies and implementation research methods for community engagement.
May 4, 2026: Engaging with Intention: Foundations for Community-Engaged Scholarship (Part I)
Building on the first session, this hands-on workshop invited SPH-Bloomington faculty to apply community-engaged principles directly to their own ideas and active projects. Through interactive activities and guided exploration of the community engagement continuum, participants refined their approaches and identified practical strategies for strengthening and advancing community partnerships.
